31-07-2015 E2-E4 Live in Amsterdam
Went to see Manuel Göttsching in 'het Muziekgebouw aan't IJ', what a beatiful location!
This was only his ninth performance of E2-E4, which was originally released back in 1981. The album has had a major influence on the techno scene in Detroit, maybe even more than Kraftwerk.
From Wikipedia:
"The album consists of a minimalistic hour-long progressive electronic track that is subdivided into single tracks according to the stage of the song. The second half of the record is notable for Göttsching's guitar playing. The album is named after the most popular opening chess move 1. e2-e4 (which is expressed in long algebraic notation). A noteworthy pun on E2-E4 exists because the guitar is tuned from E2 (the low string) to E4 (the high string)."
Nice to hear this track in a live setting with the different acoustics and the subtle changes he made to the track. It still is a unique track, once you get into it you can't get out, very hypnotic.
I also scored another great album from Manuel:

13-05-2015 Tangerine Dream & Jean Michel Jarre
Here a preview of a collaboration between Jean Michel Jarre & Tangerine Dream.
Reminds me of TD's 80's period (their best).
